Thiruvananthapuram, India
in £480s-£500s rtn
Let’s get the introductions out of the way first, shall we?
Thiruvananthapuram, (pronounced teeuh.roo.vuh.nuhn.tuh.paw.ruhm…in case you were wondering) sits all the way down close to the southern tip of India.
Here, under the swaying palms and a warm coastal breeze, life moves to a much slower tempo compared to the whirlwind of dynamic Delhi.
Of course, you’ll still spot the seemingly choreographed chaos of intertwining tuk tuks in the streets, but nobody is particularly in a rush to get from A to B.
And neither should you be, especially when India’s slow but incredibly scenic railways are so darn affordable.
Our recommendation? Spend as long as you want temple-hopping your way through the city, then hop on a Kochi bound train for some more beach snoozing and Kerala back water cruising :-)
