*long weekends* Akureyri, Iceland ❄️ in £40s-£50s rtn from London

Our number 1 goal for 2024: finally go and see those northern lights.

These winter trips to northern Iceland are gonna give you great odds at spotting those dancing greens and blues.

Your best bet to see the lights is heading out on an organised tour or renting a car and going on a DIY aurora hunt—here are a few spots you can stop in to take some pics once you see them.

But as you probably know, it also relies on a bit of luck, so cross your fingers, manifest it, and keep an eye on that aurora forecast :-)

Don't fancy chasing the lights? No probs, you're only half an hour away from the stunning Goðafoss waterfall.
