Saipan, Mariana Islands 🤿 in $3600s-$4400s RT

Just north of Guam, alllll the way in the South Pacific, you'll find the little island of Saipan. Although it might be best known for WWII history, this US commonwealth is now the most laid-back, peaceful tropical escape you could ask for.

While there are definitely amenities available – the main hub of Garapan has a handful of pretty resorts – you won't find the same rampant touristy vibes here that you find on a lot of islands. It's a place to slip into local culture, snorkel with sea turtles in lagoons, gorge yourself on Chamorro barbecue and fresh sushi, and spend entire days lounging on sleepy beaches.

The even smaller, even more peaceful island of Mañagha is just a quick boat taxi away, just in case you can't get enough dreamy white sand shores and crystal clear water.

And thanks to these cushy flights, you don't even have to land before you start relaxing. United doesn't do an official First Class on routes like this, so their Polaris class is the best that money can buy. That means private suites with lie-flat seats – exactly what you need for a long flight to a remote island :-)
