Madeira & the Azores in $2800s-$3500s RT

Those loooooong flights seem a lot shorter when you're asleep for most of it! TAP's Business class comes with lie-flat seats, so you can wake up in Portugal and grab your coffee and pastel de nata along with the locals.

Where you connect to from Lisbon is up to you, but you've got three stellar options. Madeira is probably the least rugged of the three, ideal for wine-sipping and restaurant-hopping, but you can still find some ridiculously awe-inspiring nature views. 

The Azores, meanwhile, come packed with volcanoes and hot springs. There are entire articles about choosing which island to visit, but between these two, Ponta Delgada is more popping and Terceira is more peaceful.
