Wanna visit Mars without melting? 

A trip to Wadi Rum should do the trick. Picture miles upon miles of wind-chiselled dunes with sporadic sun-scorched cliffs, pillars, and arches bursting out from the sand.

It's a relatively easy 4-hour drive from Amman, but if you'd rather keep your eyes on the epic scenery rather than the road you can always join an organised tour.

Oh, and don't forget to pay a visit to this Lost City while you're there, it's only an extra hour and a half away!
