While a couple of us Flight Finders are seriously considering giving in to these non-stop flights to Ulaanbaatar, here are three reasons why autumn is the best season to tick Mongolia off your bucket list:

• The country is draped in golden hues, making the most photogenic background to the first eagle hunts of the season.
• The weather is neither too warm nor too cold, allowing you to check out both the world's oldest mountains and prettiest desert with the same jacket - if you pack strategically!
• Popular attractions are quieter thanks to fewer tourists, but the city stays lively thanks to the local schools starting again.
