Lima at €617 rtn

We don't mean to sound like drama llamas, but this is the cheapest we've seen this route in over 3 years! 

And there's a tonne of winter dates, which happens to be a great time to visit. And that's speaking from experience, since I was there last February. 

At first, I was sceptical, given it's the low season. But boy, was it worth it.... We're talking misty mountain peaks, llama-dotted valleys and mouth-watering ceviche. I even found some reasonable connecting fares to Bolivia and hopped over to the salt flats.

Here are a few tips I learnt along the way:

1. Bring comfy waterproof hiking shoes — you don't wanna miss out on views like these just because your feet hurt.
2. Drink plenty of fluids if you're heading to higher places like Cusco, it'll help keep altitude sickness at bay.
3. Bring cash! Plenty of places accept cards, but you'll likely need coins for trail entrance fees, toilet stops and street food stands.
